Geoffrey Miller

Evolutionary Psychologist, University of New Mexico; Author, Spent: Sex, Evolution, and Consumer Behavior

GEOFFREY MILLER is Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of New Mexico. He is a widely respected evolutionary psychologist, whose work (research focusing on evolutionary psychology and sexual selection) is in the tradition of scientists such as Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett, and Steven Pinker. He is the author of The Mating Mind: How Sexual Choice Shaped Human Nature, and Spent: Sex, Evolution, and Consumer Behavior.

Miller's research has provoked extensive media coverage in newspapers and magazines. His radio experience includes interviews for BBC World Service, BBC Radio 4 and 5, South African national radio, and contributions to a BBC 4 radio series on the evolution of music and language. He was also a featured contributor to a major Tokyo Broadcasting television series on human biology and evolution in Japan in 1998.
