Irene Pepperberg
Research Associate & Lecturer, Harvard; Adjunct Associate Professor, Brandeis; Author, Alex & MeIRENE PEPPERBERG studies Grey parrots. The main focus of her work is to determine the cognitive and communicative abilities of these birds, and compare their abilities with those of great apes, marine mammals, and young children. She is studying the mechanisms of their learning as well as the outcomes.
Dr. Pepperberg is a a research scientist at the MIT School of Architecture and Planning, and a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Brandeis University. She is the author ofThe Alex Studies and Alex and Me.
