HONG-SHU TENG is Assistant Professor in the Department of English, National Taitung University, Taiwan. He received his doctorate from Royal Holloway College, University of London, where he worked on Joseph Conrad and conspiracy. His research interests include modern English literature, colonialism, contemporary fiction, literature and science. He has published a critical translation of Heart of Darkness (Taipei: Linking Publishing, 2006) and writes regularly for the China Times Book Review.
