CHIARA MARLETTO is a student at Merton College, reading for DPhil in Quantum Information Theory at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford, under the supervision of quantum physicist Artur Ekert. Her research interests include Quantum Theory of Computation, Foundations of Physics and Condensed-Matter Physics.
She has a Master of Science Degree (Laurea Specialistica) in Physical Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino ( cum laude), and a Bachelor Degree (Laurea) in Physical Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino (cum laude).
She is currently working with quantum physicist David Deutsch on several fronts, including two papers in preparation: D. Deutsch, C. Marletto "An algebraic approach to constructor theory"; and D. Deutsch, C. Marletto, "Constructor-theoretic foundations of quantum and classical information".
She is the recipient of numerous awards including "Optime" Award for Academic Excellence, offered by Unione Industriale di Torino, 2011; and the "Ing. Vittorino Pollo e Dott.Ssa Zita Pollo" Award for Academic Excellence, offered by Fondazione Giovanni Agnelli, 2010. Her research activity is supported by EPSRC and Istituto Superiore Mario Boella.
